Pioneers SA Membership
Pioneer Members
This category of membership is open to all persons who have at least one ancestor who arrived in the province, now the State, of South Australia, on or before 28 December 1846.
Associate Members
This category of membership is open to spouses of Pioneer Members and spouses of deceased persons who were, or would have been, eligible to be Pioneer Members.
Life Members
This category of membership is open to Pioneer Members or persons eligible to be Pioneer Members.
Friend Members
This category of membership is open to persons and other groups who are committed to the Association's aims and agree to abide by the Association's Rules.
Junior Pioneer Members
This category of membership is open to persons under the age of 18 years who have at least one ancestor who arrived in the province, now the State, of South Australia, on or before 28 December 1846 and are sponsored by a Pioneer Member or Associate Member.
Benefits of Membership
Pioneer Members & Life Members
Pioneer Members receive the Association's quarterly journal 'The Pioneer'; are entitled to attend social functions held by the Association including the Annual Dinner, the Proclamation Day Luncheon, excursions, lectures, tours and workshops; are eligible to nominate for the Association's Council; and are eligible to vote in any Association election or General Meeting.
Associate & Friend Members
Associate and Friend Members receive the Association's quarterly journal 'The Pioneer' and are entitled to attend social functions held by the Association including the Annual Dinner, the Proclamation Day Luncheon, excursions, lectures, tours and workshops.
Junior Pioneer Members
The objectives of Junior Pioneer membership are to encourage children, from an early age to:
· be aware that they are descendent from the Pioneers of South Australia
· learn about the life and times of their Pioneer ancestors, and
· take an interest in the establishment of the province, now the State, of South Australia.
Junior Pioneers receive a special membership certificate, are invited to participate in special Junior Pioneer events held by the Association and are encouraged to become Pioneer Members upon attaining the age of 18 years.
Subscriptions and Fees
Joining Fees & Annual Subscriptions
A joining fee of $15 per applicant applies to each new person or organisation.
Annual subscriptions are renewable on 1 July each year and new members joining after 1 January will be charged half the scheduled subscription. Current subscription rates are:
Individuals
Pioneer Member $70.00
Associate or Friend Member $70.00
Couples (living at the same address; receive only one copy of the journal quarterly)
Pioneer Member & Associate Member $120.00
Two Pioneer Members $120.00
Two Friend Members $120
Life Subscriptions
Eligible persons wishing to become Life Members may pay the appropriate subscription based on their age at the time of becoming a Life Member, as follows:
18 to 49 years $1,500
50 to 59 years $1,250
60 to 69 years $1,000
70 to 79 years $800
80 years and over $600
Junior Pioneer Registration Fee
A one-off registration fee of $30.00 is payable upon sponsorship of each Junior Pioneer. There is no annual subscription and the membership expires when the Junior Pioneer reaches 18 years of age.
Applying for Pioneers SA Membership
When applying for Pioneer or Life Pioneer membership we ask you to provide a completed membership application form, a pedigree chart showing your direct line to your pioneer ancestor and pioneer ancestor details using the forms provided below.
For Life, Pioneer, Associate or Friend membership, complete the application form provided below.

Note: Associate and Friend memberships are not required to provide a pedigree or Pioneer Ancestor details.

How To Make Your Payment
Please forward the completed paperwork and your payment to Pioneers SA. We prefer that you email the application and pay via EFT or Credit Card (by phone or in person) but if this is not possible a cheque may be posted. If you wish you may visit the office and pay by EFT or cash.
